This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use Manabu: Learn Japanese (the “App”). The App is provided by BugraX (the “Developer”).
1. Information Stored on Your Device
To operate, personalize your learning experience, and preserve your progress, the App may store the following information locally on your device:
- interface language and theme preferences;
- onboarding completion status;
- daily study goal and reminder preference;
- selected reasons for learning Japanese and proficiency level;
- XP, coins, streak, and lesson progress;
- completed content and last activity date.
This information is not transmitted to the Developer's servers and is not shared with third parties. Local information is deleted when you uninstall the App or clear the App's data through your device settings.
2. Information and Device Access Not Collected
The current version does not collect your name, email address, phone number, payment information, location, contacts, photos, camera recordings, or microphone recordings. It does not use user accounts, advertising, behavioral tracking, analytics, or crash-reporting services.
3. Text-to-Speech Feature
The App uses your device's text-to-speech (“TTS”) service to pronounce Japanese words and phrases. The text to be pronounced may be processed by your operating system or the TTS provider installed on your device. Such processing may be subject to the privacy terms of the relevant operating system or TTS provider. The App does not record audio and does not collect your voice.
4. Data Collection, Transfer, and Sharing
In the current version, the Developer does not collect personal data through the App, transmit personal data to its own servers, or share personal data with advertising networks, analytics providers, or other companies.
If account features, cloud synchronization, advertising, analytics, subscriptions, or similar online functionality are added in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated before those features are released. Where required, permission or consent will be obtained from users.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
Locally stored App data remains on your device until you uninstall the App or clear its data through your device settings. Because the current version does not maintain user accounts or collect personal data on Developer-operated servers, there is no server-side user account or personal-data deletion process.
Emails sent directly to the Developer about privacy matters may be retained for as long as necessary to respond to the request and comply with applicable legal obligations.
6. Security
The App follows a data-minimization approach and keeps learning data on your device. However, no device or electronic storage method can guarantee absolute security. You should keep device security features, such as a screen lock and operating-system updates, enabled.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not specifically directed to children under the age of 13, and the Developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If a parent or legal guardian believes that a child has provided personal information to the Developer, they may contact the Developer using the details below.
8. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to request access, information, correction, or deletion. Because the current version does not collect personal data on Developer-operated servers, locally stored data can be deleted by clearing the App's data through your device settings or uninstalling the App.
Requests under applicable privacy laws, including Türkiye's Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698, may be submitted using the contact information below.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when the App's functionality or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date will be revised when changes are made. Material changes may also be announced in the App or on its store listing, where appropriate.
